Najah Qamar, ISWSM’s creator and founder, is a local artist who runs her practice through Studio Qamar. Her art practice includes painting, photography/film, and mixed-media/textile experimentation. During her recent internship with the MCA Denver, she pitched I See Who Sees Me to a panel of five judges and received enough funding to begin putting the pilot program together. She is now working to build the program from the ground up with the support of her community, fellow artists, and her family’s art and education focused 501(c)(3), The Johnson Legacy, Inc. Independent of ISWSM, she is honing her craft, getting licensed to substitute teach, and recently accepted a role with the Colorado Photographic Arts Center as an exhibition intern. She is enrolled in college and pursuing her degree in Arts Education.
