So, what is it we’re here to do?
In-School Programming
We will introduce our pilot program to the students and faculty of two schools in the Park Hill neighborhood. This will be in direct collaboration with their principals and art teachers, or in the event there is no in-school art program, their after-school program leaders/ English teachers. Both intended schools (to be announced soon) have diverse student bodies, serving a high number of Black and Latinx student between them. While this program is meant to be a creative bridge between all kids in the Denver Metro area, we pay close attention to the gaps Black and brown students face in arts opportunities and set intentions to help fill those gaps.

ISWSM x Mini Maker’s Festival
“I See Who Sees Me” is excited to announce our collaboration with The People We Know Collective’s “Mini Maker’s Festival” in May of 2026! This is an event curated by local artist, Mick Jones. This will be a kid-centered arts festival where Denver kids can meet more local artists and interact with their work hands-on. There will be booths to visit, open mics to sign up for, and delicious local food! ISWSM’s end-of-school-year gallery event will be one of several focal points of the market, where kids from the program will have an opportunity to see their letters and art work, as well as a mini-documentary of their correspondence in a gallery setting. All are welcome to attend!

Sponsors + Collaborators
ISWSM, through Studio Qamar LLC, is partnered with The Johnson Legacy, Inc allowing the pilot program to be as far reaching as possible during our first year. This pilot would not have been made possible without initial funding, which Najah Qamar pitched for during her internship with the MCA Denver. After presenting to a panel of five local artists/entrepreneurs, Qamar was able to receive enough funding to kickstart ISWSM, thanks to the MCA Denver’s “Creator’s Studio”, founded by Christina Chambers, and the program’s generous donors. During the course of that internship, Qamar met and subsequently began collaborations with: Mick Jones, founder and creator of the “Mini Maker’s Festival”, and several other Denver artists, curators, and entrepreneurs. Several of these artists will make appearances at our monthly pop-up donation drive events, selling and talking about their work, as well as helping us curate our social media presence.
